The 2013 Super Science Summer Camp: For children of BCC students, employees and alumni.
This year BCC has partnered with the UF/Brevard County Extension Service's "Science
in the Classroom Project" for a fun-filled Super Summer Science Camp.
Open to children who have completed kindergarten through 4th grade.
Sign up begins in April 2013, with registration at each campus center.
Summer camps run from June 3 to August 1 at Melbourne and Cocoa campuses, from 7:15
– 5:30 Monday through Thursday. (We will be closed Thursday, July 4). The camp themed
activities begin at 9 AM and end at 4 PM. Before and after care time offers free-choice
activities.
Children must bring their own lunch, snacks and water bottles.
Science Topics will include:
Gross Science
Chemistry in the Kitchen
Nutrition and Fitness
Exploring Nature through Gardening
Ocean Exploration
Botanical Investigations
Cost, including all camp supplies and before- and after-camp care:
BCC Employees: $65 per child per week, Monday through Thursday.
BCC Alumni and Students: Full-time Camp (7:15 to 5:30 PM) $120 per week, Monday through
Thursday; Part-time Camp (8:30 to 2:30) $100 per week, Monday through Thursday
$25 non-refundable registration fee.
All summer camps offer a low teacher to child ratio for individual attention and care
of each child and are located in air-conditioned facilities, with morning outdoor
activities each day.
All camps include indoor and outdoor games, special theme related days and projects,
movie and popcorn day, water day, walking field trips on campus, 30 minute quiet time
with the option to participate in resting, listening to music, or chapter book readings,
while encouraging friendships and teamwork.
