BCC Lab School is a college-based "hands-on" educational program providing non-credit courses to the community. Our unique "parent cooperative" program is where families work together, building strong family foundations and lifelong friendships.

The adult is the student in our classes. Our daytime classes feature activity-filled classrooms that allow your child to play and discover while developing age appropriate social, physical, cognitive and emotional skills.

Young children attend with an adult, developing at their own pace in a stimulating, structured atmosphere. Parent and child explore, learn and grow together. Older children participate in many types of learning, developing creative problem-solvers with self-control, social skills and positive self-esteem. All members of the family can participate: once a semester, Saturday classes are held for parents who can't attend during the week.

Daytime classes begin with greeting/circle time, helping everyone connect. A safe, fun and developmentally appropriate obstacle course develops muscles, builds and strengthens brain pathways and improves sensory processes. Music time uses lively songs, American Sign Language and finger rhymes. Children dance and sing, developing rhythm, melody, muscle control and speech. Structured play time's engaging activities encourage fine motor skills and strong brains. Children choose from daily art, block, science and literacy centers, make believe pla, and more. Reading time provides a foundation for literacy for even the youngest child. Playground time and snack time provide a place to practice social skills. Throughout the day children learn life skills: trust, cooperation, patience and self control while their parents use skills learned in evening sessions.

Our adult evening classes teach skills that promote confident, cooperative children. Parents get to interact with other adults. Bonding, development and handling challenging behavior are some of the topics covered. Our meetings answer important parenting questions while giving families the chance to discuss relevant topics and provide support for each other. Parents participate as a team with their trained, professional teacher: growing together, enjoying an active role in their child's school experience and sharing with other parents who have children near the same age.

Come learn with us and rediscover your inner love for learning!
